Los Ayala
A Step Back in Time
Respeto
Respect is often based on age, professional position, power, social status and level of attention to personal relationships, the latter taking precedence over all the other factors. Developing and nurturing respect requires an emotional investment.
Los Ayala
is a place of legend and is said to be named after a group of bandits with the surname "Los Ayalas." They lived here during the early part of nineteenth century in an area located at the north end of town and south of the main street "Bahia de Banderas".
Just north of this area are some small caves hidden by the dense undergrowth and this is said to have been the bandits hideout. This area earned a reputation of being haunted by ghosts, so nobody dared to enter this area which they called "The Ayala"
Local folklore says that there is a great treasure hidden in one of these caves behind a golden door. It is also said that the bandits hid additional treasures in a cave hidden amidst the rock wall at the entrance to Los Ayala.
This is but one of the many legends the wind carries, because people need to believe, the following legend has also survived...
Long ago, when the New Country had just been found, the “Conquistadores” carried many treasures on their ships, treasures they had began to exploit, and so, the pirates of the New Country took them back and hid them on an inaccessible piece of land and hidden beach. The name of these pirates was “Los Ayala”, and their name prevailed on the beach where they hid their treasures.
It’s said that even today, some treasures remain undiscovered, and that those who have had the fortune of finding part of it, will have lived without the necessity to work, as will many generations after them.
Pay close attention to what you might consider as trash when you walk down our beaches and you will see that some of that trash is nothing else but the remains of the many ships the “Los Ayala” possessed!
Finally it is said that Los Ayala used to be called "Beach of the Mermaids" probably because its sheer beauty seemed a fitting home for mermaids; and indeed may have been!
