Translates to  "Horseman"; and dates back to the Middle Ages in Spain when men fought for the King in exchange for favours from the throne. Today, it is commonly used to refer to men who are a cut above the average and character; often used as an honorary title or as flattery.

The rains have ceased and although the waters have receded the quaint sand streets of Los Ayala are wavy, riddled with humongous pot holes and gouges. Driving in Los Ayala these days is akin to an amusement ride!

Sept/Oct 2010
     On August 19th the bosses from Semarnat came to Los Ayala to attend a meeting to finalize the program of temporary employment. The meeting was well attended and included Romy Mora, Juez of Los Ayala; David Rivera Bernal who heads the program for the state of Nayarit; the head boss from Mexico city; and the boss who is in charge of the federal zone for the state of Nayarit.

July/August 2010
     The PET (Programa de Empleo Temporal - Temporary Employment Program) has been awarded to Los Ayala for the fourth time, thanks to the hard work of our own "Juez" - Romy Mora.

June 2010
     Romy Mora, Juez (Mayor) of Los Ayala led the community in 2009 to raise funds to build a Town Square. The community worked hard to raise funds to build our Town Square. The townspeople hosted a traditional Mexican Fiesta which raised $28,200.00 CAD... Romy then applied for government program called 3 for 1 - which matched the funds raised 3 for 1... The result is our glorious Town Square which now serves as a gathering place and venue for special events in our community.

     Los Ayala is very popular as a beach vacation destination; and on weekends and holidays, busloads of tourists arrive from all over Mexico, quadrupling the population. While fantastic for business; the popularity of Los Ayala presents some challenges...
