Getting there from Los Ayala...
By Car
Turn right when you exit Los Ayala directly on to highway 200, and drive south for about 30 minutes. You will drive by the towns of El Monteon, Lo de Marcos, and San Pancho before reaching the entrance to Sayulita. Sayulita is just a few minutes south of San Pancho. A taxi from Los Ayala to Sayulita costs 250-300 pesos.
By Bus
Catch the collectivo to La Penita, and buy a ticket at the local bus depot in La Penita for the Pacifico Bus line. Get off the bus on the highway at the exit to Sayulita. Be prepared to wait a little while for the local bus to take you into town or to walk ~ 2 kilometers down the road to Sayulita. Taxis are not easy to find in this area.

What to Do in Sayulita?

"Porfiriato"
This refers to the dictatorial rule of Profirio Diaz from 1877 to 1910, figuratively "the Porfirio era." This was the period when the common people of Mexico were little more than slave laborers to a small elite group of Mexican and foreign industrialists, who dominated the country.
